FAQ’s

Have A Question?

Read through our FAQs. If you still have a question, feel free to contact us.

What does your agency do?

EVERYTHING! From logo design and corporate identity, to all forms of print jobs such as stationery, flyers, brochures, catalogues, packaging and signage. We also love to illustrate, whether it be a carton, technical drawing or artist impression.

If you’re unsure if we offer the service you’re looking for, ask us! We’d love to hear from you.

How much do your services cost?

We offer 2 forms of pricing: fixed quote or an hourly rate.

Fixed quote

If you already have the details of your project set out, contact us and we can give you a quote. We provide detailed quotes so you know exactly what’s covered in the price of the job. If you need to make changes to the job once the quote has been accepted, or you request work that is outside the scope of the quote, that’s no problem. We’ll always inform you of any additional fees prior to doing the extra work, so you’ll always know what you’re up for.

Hourly rate

Many of our regular clients work with us on an hourly rate. This ensures a fast turn around on jobs as we bypass the quote/acceptance stage of the project, allowing the job to go straight into production. It’s also great if you’re not quite sure about the specifics of a job – working on an hourly rate allows you the freedom to change your mind as a job progresses, as you aren’t limited by the constraints of a fixed quote. Contact us for our hourly rate.

How long does it take to make a design?

That can be a tricky question to answer. The time it takes to complete a design project depends on a number of factors:

  • the size of the job
  • our work schedule at the time of you accepting our quote/services, and
  • the speed of communication between both of us.

Because we work in consultation with you throughout the design project, the amount of time it takes for you to give us your feedback, supply necessary details/information etc can influence the timeline of a job.

We work hard from our end to deliver work in a fast and timely manner.

If you have a deadline to work to, let us know so we can ensure your project is completed on time. We are also happy to accommodate “rush jobs” (schedule permitting).

What does the design process look like?

At Handstand Graphics the design process is simple. We begin by getting a brief from you, where we collect all the information we need, including your likes/preferences/dislikes, target market, and any technical details, so we have a clear idea of what you’re after.

From there we email you design concept(s)/mockups (in low resolution), for your feedback. Any changes are incorporated and we send you revised concepts/mockups.

Once you’re happy with the concept, we supply you with final high resolution files for your logo or print project, and the job is complete.

If it’s a web project, after the designs are approved, we move on to the coding stage. From there we give you a link to view your website in “development” before it’s put live to the general public. You can test things out, have a play, and let us know if you have any changes/issues. Once you’re happy with the website, we put it “live” and the job is complete.

How do I communicate with Handstand Graphics?

We are happy to work with whatever form of communication suits you: email, phone, or face to face meetings*.

We understand everyone is busy, so we find email to be the most effective form of communication as it allows you to reply when it is convenient for you – within office hours, or at 2am if that suits your schedule. It also gives you a record of communication, so you can keep on top of any conversations/requests made.

* We are happy to offer face to face meetings at the start of a job free of charge, however excessive requests for meetings may incur additional fees to cover travel time/lost production hours.

Who do you work with?

The short answer is EVERYONE. From start up businesses, sole traders, individuals, and non-profit organisations, through to large corporations. No job is too big or too small!

We cover all areas of the Sutherland Shire and greater Sydney. We even work with clients interstate, and overseas. Geography is not an issue.

Who is Handstand Graphics?

Handstand Graphics is a small boutique design agency in the Sutherland Shire. We offer personalised service to all our clients, and all work is custom designed in-house. We DO NOT outsource overseas, nor do we use clipart or online templates.

You deal directly with your designer from start to finish, so you can be confident you are getting the best service possible without any “middleman” or sales pitches.

Where can I see your work?

You can view our work in our online design portfolio. We encourage all new clients to have a look at our work – it will give you an idea of our design style and range of services, so you can be confident that we can deliver exactly what you’re after. We hope it will also give you some inspiration for your own project.

What if I need to put a job on hold?

We understand everyone is busy, and unexpected events can pop up. So if you need to put a job on hold, that’s no problem – just let us know so we can postpone any follow up communication.

We do ask that if a job is placed on hold, payment is made to cover the work to date.

If we haven’t heard from you, or a job has been idle for more than 1 month, it is considered to be “on hold” and we may request payment to cover work to date.

You are free to recommence a job at any time. However, if a job has been on hold for more than 12 months, additional fees may apply to cover any price increases that may have occurred during the “hold” period. We will advise you at the time of recommencing the job if there are any additional fees.

Is the artwork our property once paid for?

Upon completion of a job we will supply you with the artwork, as was agreed upon at the start of the project.

For print jobs this typically includes a high resolution pdf for printing (with crop and bleed marks), and a low resolution pdf for electronic/online use.

For logo designs we supply a high resolution pdf, eps (vector) file, high and low resolution jpgs, and high and low resolution png files.

Sorry, we don’t release working files (ie. Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator files) for a project unless it was agreed to prior to the job commencing.
